Rumors rise from the street like steam from fresh blacktop on a sweltering day. But if Grace, a notoriously taciturn cat, said it, it must be true. Mr. Brushes, despite outward (posterior) appearances, is not a he but a she. And pregnant.
you may ask yourself, well, how did i get here

Loved this feline tale! Raised a giggle 🙂
Good! Thanks for reading and giggling!
That line about rumors rising from the street like steam from flesh is gorgeous. I love cats – especially gossipy ones. And that picture, oh.my.God! Serious cuteness!
I googled “whispering cats” and found that photo. Too funny. Thanks for commenting, Karen.
Cute and creatively so. Well done.
Thanks, Lance!
So much in 42! Nice job.
Thank you for reading and commenting!
The rides you take us on, Meg. Super clever and funny, and anything with a cat (notoriously taciturn or not) is good with me. 🙂
Hah! Glad you enjoyed it, Jennifer. Makes me happy, as do cats. 😉
Love this! This was awesome! ♥
Thanks, Kathy!
What a photo. It’s not what I would have imagined, that’s for sure.
Hah! I decided I needed to go off the rails a bit. Thanks, Stacie.

I would say it comes naturally but that would be a big fat lie. 😉
Gasp. Mr. Brushes is Ms. Brushes. I’m shocked. Shocked, I tell you.
I know, right?! 😉

Thank you, Christine. It was fun.
As a farm kid, I had to change many a cat’s name to end in -ella…
Hahaha! A friend of mine named her cat Hester Prynne and then found out it was a boy. The good (though sad) thing was that most people didn’t know that Hester Prynne was a female character.
Indeed.. they are hard to tell apart… great take.
Yes! Thanks for reading.
Those felines *are* a gossipy bunch, aren’t they?
They are catty!
Oh!
A fun take on the prompt! As much as I try not to, I love a good scandal.
Me too, Marcy!
