Life is Short

I wrote this seven years ago. Hard to believe so much time has passed since my transition from managing editor to grants writer. I’m reblogging it because I kinda like it…and I’m still looking for a new word for “enhance.”

I have used “augment” in the past, but could stand to use it more. Thanks, saroful. πŸ˜‰

It has such a different mouthfeel, though. Enhance is classy, slick, sleek, sharpening what’s already there. Augment is growth, pushing, agglomerations accumulating.

I am a fan of improve as a synonym. It is simple and easily understood.

Life is short, sometimes you have to burn the candle at both ends to enjoy it.
